Standard pool covers have tons of advantages – keeping debris out of pools, preventing damage in the off season, and blocking out backwater. Yet the innovative solar pool covers have the old-school variety beat for a number of reasons. They are extremely efficient in warming pools, preventing heat loss, and overall cutting costs for a number of reasons.
The science behind them is simple. The cover has a layer of sealed bubbles in which solar energy is captured and stored. The warmth can, as a result, be transmitted into the pool water. Not only is heat put into the pool, but the cover also keeps existing heat from getting out. For this reason, pool heaters have to function not even half as rigorously as they would otherwise, saving the customer hundreds of dollars in payments each season.
While doing all of this, the covers continue to work by sealing the water underneath. When not in use, water cannot be readily evaporated into the air. As a result, pool owners have to add water to their pools far less often. Additionally, fewer chemicals are also used. The cost of owning a pool becomes overall cheaper.
Standard procedure for proper care will ensure that these covers will last several years. When not on the pool, they should be stored out of sunlight and perhaps even under a white cloth or covering. If desired, a customer could also purchase a cover reel to keep it in proper condition. Finally, these should not be near the pool when the owner is shocking or heavily chlorinating the water.
Solar pool covers allow a customer to enjoy all the luxuries of a pool cover combined with a pool heater. With the heat and water evaporation being reduced to almost a dead stop, purchasers will have little to worry about in terms of pool cost. Buyers would be crazy not to reduce their yearly costs.
