A solar cover is a great way to help keep pool water temperatures up and related pool costs down. They can save you on chemical consumption, elecrical costs, water costs and help extend the amount of swimming time.
If you don’t already have a solar pool cover, you will need to purchase one. measure the pool with a tape measure to ensure you are purchasing the correct size.
Step 2
You will want to place the solar pool cover on the pool whenever the pool is not in use. During the day, the solar pool cover will help prevent evaporation and it also attracts heat from the sun helping to warm the water without the use of a pool heater. In the evening, the solar pool cover will help prevent heat loss due to lower air temperatures and evaporation.
Step 3
Completely remove the solar pool cover before swimming. You can simply pull the solar pool cover off and place it aside for storage. In addition to this method you can purchase a solar cover reel which will help make the solar pool cover removal effortless.
Step 4
You may need to cut the solar blanket to fit around any ladders or rails. Please refer to you solar cover warranty before doing so.
