When moving, it is very important that you pack properly. If you don’t, you risk your items being broken instead of making it to their destination safely.
When packing, do the following:
•Employ used boxes for packing lightweight items that are not breakable. This is because used boxes are already weak because they have probably been used to carry some kind of stock. •You can acquire the proper moving supplies for more fragile items at your local moving supply store. You can buy boxes that are specially made for dishes, artwork, and other fragile belongings.
•Invest in bubble wrap instead of wrapping breakables in newspaper. This is because the newspaper ink can rub off on ceramics and other items. Newspaper can make great padding, but should not wrap anything directly.
•For those clothing items that cannot be folded due to wrinkling, you can purchase wardrobe boxes that will keep them perfectly straight.
•Always make sure heavier items are packed on the bottom of boxes and the lightweight items on top so that the lighter items are not damaged.
Correct packing & shipping reduces chances of your belongings being broken during transit. This also makes the unpacking process much easier, especially if you label which rooms the boxes are to go in. All you do is write “kitchen” on a box that goes in the kitchen and “master bedroom” on a box that goes in the master bedroom.
