Once you have your pool installed, you are then faced with multitudes of choices in all of the accessories that are available for your pool and patio. One of the choices that you will be faced with is whether or not to get a pool cover and what type of pool cover to get if you do.
There are several types of pool covers and solar pool covers are one of them. The fact is that of all the solar pool heating systems you can use, a solar pool cover is the most cost effective to buy and to use. A solar pool cover operates by both attracting solar heat and then directing it below to the water and it also has a second function of keeping heat trapped in the water that is already there.
The fact is, that they are quite effective and most people that use them report that they are content with the level of temperature that they bring the pool water up. Solar pool covers have three available operational modes that they are available in.
The first one is totally manual and it is the least expensive. This type of solar pool cover is pulled on and pulled off entirely by hand and requires at least two people to operate. The second type of solar pool cover is what is commonly referred to as semi-mechanical.
With this system all of the pushing and pulling of the actual weight of the pool cover is done by an electric motor. However; there are no tracts so the cover itself still has to be handled by people. The third type of solar powered pool cover that is available on the market is completely mechanical and all that is required to operate it is the simple push of a button.
