London, (ANI): Cheryl Cole will no longer be able to fulfill her dream of constructing an intimate swimming pool for herself and hubby Ashley at their home
. Cheryl’s plan for an underground gym and pool was foiled when a planning inspector turned down the idea, calling the development ‘non essential’. The X Factor judge wanted the space to keep Peeping Toms at bay.
Cheryl and her footie hubby Ashley are now expected to go about their construction plans above the ground on the 12 acres land around their 3.5million pound home. The couple had made the appeal against an earlier decision that barred them from making the complex, saying that aircraft flying above their home could photograph them during ‘intimate episodes’.
Papers submitted to planners mentioned that the pair had ‘suffered from a number of incidents, including helicopters with photographers flying over and bogus officials attempting to gain access’. The papers also claimed that the grounds in the village of Shackleford, near Goldalming, Surrey, could be easily seen from a public walkway.
However, Guildford Borough Council rejected the request, as the plan was inappropriate for the Green Belt.
“While I note that the occupants clearly suffer a certain level of intrusion into their private lives, I am not satisfied that these facilities are essential,” the Daily Express quoted government planning inspector Philippa Jarvis, as saying.
